Spent last night at Kinkora Hostel. When we arrived we discovered it was Beltaine, the Celtic New Year, and there was a feast to celebrate! Onion pie, beer and soda breads, cabbage, corned beef, potato and carrots and trifle for dessert. We have all the luck. Didn’t start till after noon today so we only went 10 miles (only a month ago that was a BIG day.) We hiked through Laurel Creek Gorge and spent lots of time swimming and playing. After climbing back down, we had a rope swing on Watauga Lake to finish the day. It can’t get any better.
