Posted from Independence, California, United States.

We had a short hiking day today. I actually got up and was hiking by 6:30 AM. This was the first descent start in the Sierras. It didn’t take long to make it up over Kearsarge Pass. We all arrived at the trailhead about 9:30 AM. Unfortunately there were very few cars there and we had no luck getting a hitch. The camp caretaker called us a shuttle when he went to town so our ride finally arrived at 12:30. I’m taking tomorrow off and should hit the trail again on the 16th.
