Carson Pass

Posted from California, United States.

We spent all morning hiking around a small peak. The trail started in the SE corner of it and meandered due west via several small climbs and descents. It was one of the warmest days we have had since we started central California. To cool off, we dunked ourselves in a small creek.

During the afternoon, a large thunderstorm dumped on the mountain we had hiked around in the morning. We stayed dry, but I kept looking over my shoulder to make sure it wasn’t coming our way. We made great mileage today – better than any other day this section. We should be in South Lake Tahoe tomorrow afternoon.
