Cold Springs

Posted from Forest Ranch, California, United States.

Got our typical 10am start when leaving town. We had to wait for the Belden P.O. to open. Before hiking, we took a quick dip in the river since the day was already hot. The trail climbed ALL DAY! It wasn’t steep, just a constant up. Thankfully, we followed a ravine & were never far from water.

Towards the end of the day, we passed a sign indicating we were leaving the Sierras & entering the Cascades. I didn’t see anything special around, but I don’t really expect to until Mt. Lassen. We camped at Cold Springs with Jim & DJ, the section hikers who have been around since I-80. Tomorrow we’ll hit Chester & the half-way point.
